It's a game changer for Winter Olympics training

June 2016

Australia is to get a brand new, world-class Ski Jump ramp and high performance centre at Lennox Head in northern NSW. This first for Australia will significantly improve the training opportunities for Australian athletes hoping to compete in international winter sports events.

Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres, announced a $5.9 million allocation for the proposed Lennox Head facilities in the 2016-2017 NSW budget, giving the Sport and Recreation venue the green light to start planning major improvements to its scenic facility.

Construction of the state-of-art Ski Jump will provide new jobs, attract international visitors and offer both Australian athletes a significant competitive advantage across various sporting disciplines.

The new-look Lake Ainsworth, which will be officially recognised as an Olympic training venue, is expected to be completed in 2018.
