Keepit Kommando is back at Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre! Stretching over 5kms, participants can run, climb, jump and crawl their way through mud pits, vertical rock-climbing platforms, monkey bars and loads of other challenges.

With over 50 obstacles, participants can choose to do as little or as much as they want. Get your friends and family together for a fun and active day outdoors, or put your physical and mental strength to the ultimate test.

Dressing up is also part of the fun. Wear something wild to stand out from the crowd, or show some team camaraderie by dressing in matching uniforms – just be prepared to get a little muddy!

We encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved. There’s something for everyone including music, and food and drinks on site, so you can have a well-deserved rest afterwards!

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?
Wear old clothing and closed shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy. We also recommend bringing a change of warm clothes for when you’ve finished the race. Dressing up is also part of the fun! Wear something wild to stand out from the crowd, or show some team camaraderie by dressing in matching uniforms.

Are showers available?
Yes, showers and change rooms are available on site so you can wash off and enjoy the rest of your day relaxing at the Centre.

Can I get photos?
Photos will be taken on the day by our Centre staff. We will upload the images to Facebook after the event where you are free to tag yourself, as well as friends and family. Follow us at FB.com/LakeKeepitSportandRec.
You can also take your own photos, however, we suggest taking them before or after you complete the course so you don’t damage your phone or camera.

Can spectators attend?
Yes, spectators are more than welcome to come and cheer you along at no charge.

Will the event be cancelled due to bad weather?
The event will go ahead rain, hail, or shine.

How do I get there?
Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre is just 30 minutes from Gunnedah and 45 minutes from Tamworth. The closest major town to the Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre is Tamworth. The Armidale XPLORER runs daily between Sydney and Armidale and stops at Tamworth. Plan your trip at transportnsw.info.

Is there car parking?
Free parking is available on site.

Do I need to know how to swim?
The mud pits aren’t too deep, but if you don’t feel comfortable you can choose to skip this part of the obstacle course.

What do I need to bring?

  • Photo ID
  • Change of warm clothes
  • Towel
  • Cash (for food and drink)

Where can I store my personal items?
You can leave your personal items with your spectator friends and family, or at the canteen tent with Centre staff. Please leave valuable items at home as we do not take responsibility for lost or damaged items.

Booking terms and conditions

Confirmation

For bookings with charges of $1,000 or more a security deposit (25% of the total fee) must be paid within 7 days of making the booking following receipt of a security deposit invoice.

For bookings with charges less than $1,000 the full fee must be paid within 7 days following receipt of an invoice.

For bookings made 30 days or less prior to the start date, full payment of the total cost of the booking is required at the time of the booking being made.

Payment

Balance of payment is due 30 days prior to the start date.

Other

In addition to these Financial Terms and Conditions, the Client, including all persons under the Client's control, agrees to abide by the General Terms and Conditions. By proceeding with this Booking, the Client and all persons under the Client's control agrees that they have read, understood and accepted both these Financial Terms and Conditions and the General Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation

If a booking is cancelled 60 days or more prior to the start date, the client will be entitled to a refund, ie a cancellation fee of 20% of the total fee for bookings under $1,000, or 20% of the security deposit (including GST) for bookings $1,000 or over. A written request for a refund must be received from the client.

If a booking is cancelled 30 days or more but less than 60 days prior to the start date, the client will be entitled to a refund, ie a cancellation fee of 50% of the total fee for bookings under $1,000, or 50% of the security deposit (including GST) for bookings $1,000 or over. A written request for a refund must be received from the client.

If a booking is cancelled within 30 days prior to the start date, the client will not be entitled to a refund, ie a cancellation fee of 100% of the total fee for bookings under $1,000, or 100% of the security deposit (including GST) for bookings $1,000 or over.
