Health and safety

Activities

Safety is our top priority that’s why all instructors are qualified in first aid and resuscitation.

Safety equipment is compulsory for all guests. Personal flotation devices (life jackets) and covered shoes must be worn for all water sports except swimming and shirts with sleeves are required for all outdoor activities.

The maximum group size for activities is 32 participants for each instructor.

All Centres (except Jindabyne) have pools.

Sun protection

Our Sun Protection Policy encourages the use of hats, t-shirts and sunscreen and programs are scheduled outside of the hottest part of the day to minimise exposure.

First aid

Centre staff hold senior first aid accreditation and can administer first aid for minor injuries or illness. In more serious cases, staff can direct you to the nearest medical centre or hospital.

Medical conditions

If you have a pre-existing condition, allergy or special dietary needs, please ensure you have provided full details on our enrolment form for the best possible care.

Medication at camp

If you are taking any medication, please ensure you bring enough for the duration of your stay.

Asthma and anaphylaxis

If you suffer from asthma or anaphylaxis, you should have an asthma management plan or anaphylaxis action plan which has been prepared by your/their doctor. Download sample plan templates from Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy website. Please provide the Centre with the plan at least 3 weeks prior to attending camp. Please also bring medication (ie at least one adrenaline auto injector and/or asthma inhaler) with you to camp.
